So Cap Hair Extensions Dharma Salon is now offering hair extensions to its clientele. It is now possible to have long beautiful hair instantly! Christine Aguilar and Sam Jarman are taking appointments for clients that wish to add length or thickness to their hair. The extensions are available in 100 different colors so they can be matched to anyone. Straight, wavy and curly textures are all available. The hair is of excellent quality and stays smooth and shiny for months. Your new hair can be cut, colored, permed to match yours, and styled with hot tools. You can expect to keep your original set of extensions for up to 6 months. With regular maintenance, they can be kept in for as long as you wish. Taking care of your extensions is relatively easy. Most importantly, you need to brush your hair, with a boars' hair brush, from roots to ends to prevent tangles at the scalp. You need to make sure you sleep on a satin pillowcase to keep the hair cuticle smoother. You need to braid you hair in a single braid each night to prevent tangles. You should be using the products that Christine and Sam recommend to keep the hair healthy and strong. It is recommended that you do not go to bed with wet hair, and that you dry your hair soon after it is washed each time to prevent the bonds from softening. It is very important that you let Christine and Sam maintain your hair while you have the extensions. Different techniques are required to apply color and to cut the extensions, and they have been trained to do so. The hair is attached to your own hair about 1/2inch from the scalp. The bonds (like your own hair) are made of keratin and bond to your hair creating small "beads" approximately the size of a grain of rice. As your own hair grows, the bonds grow farther from your scalp. You can come in every couple of months and have several bonds moved up, or you can come in after 4-6 months and have all of the extensions taken out and replaced. In most cases the hair we take out can be re-tipped with a new keratin tip and re-used. The original application process can take anywhere from 3 to 8 hours depending on the thickness of your own hair. That determines the number of strands that we need to use and the price.
